In the illustrated novel, which talks about serious matters in a light and relaxed way, 16-year-old Maija expresses her feelings in words and pictures. She records her life in a diary that doubles as a sketchbook. Maija is still in school, but also works at a juice shop and often takes care of her two younger sisters so that the single mother can rest. Each sister has a different dad.
