The correspondence of the great Russian composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky (1840-1893) with N. F. von Meck (1831-1894) is a significant part of his enormous epistolary legacy. The five volumes of Series XVII-A of the Academic Complete Works of Pyotr Tchaikovsky publish more than 1,200 letters in full, without cuts, including about two dozen previously unpublished letters discovered in recent years. All the letters have been textually verified based on the sources identified to date. The second volume includes all known texts of letters from 1878, as well as previously unpublished letters. In the appendices, Tchaikovsky's personal photo albums are published in full for the first time.
