For the first time in Saratov study of local lore the publication investigates basic milestones of development of local law enforcement agencies on the background of events which took place in the VIIIth - XXth centuries. Special attention is paid to such statesmen, as ministers of justice G.Derzhavin, M.Akimov, A.Khvostov, A.Makarov, A.Kerenskii, the first director of the Main Prison Administration M.Galkin-Vraskoi, etc. and their connections with Saratov Region. The book includes a list of 52 ministers of justice for 200 years and other interesting documents adjusted according to basic sources.
