The author conducts an all-round study of ethnic and cultural adaptation of the representatives of local ethnic groups (rural diasporas) of Western Siberia - Latvians, Germans, Ukrainians, Chuvashs and Estonians that formed in the result of mass migrations of the late XIXth and the first quarter of the XXth century. History of the formation of ethnic bodies, reasons and ways of great migrations, role of the state in the processes of the settlers' migration, their settlement and organization of the use of land are among the principal matters under inquiry.
