Irena Veisaite (1928-2020) is a Lithuanian literary critic, theater critic. From 1934 to 1941 studied at Sholom Aleichem Gymnasium. During the Second World War, she lost her mother in the Kaunas ghetto. In 1944 Stefanija Ladigiene regardless of the risk, saved her by sheltering and hiding her in her home. I. Since 1965 associate professor, since 1999 Honorary professor of VPU. Since 1963 also known as a theater critic. Published over 200 articles in the Lithuanian and foreign press. She was also the co-author of school textbooks, author of a dozen books.
