The book is the product of decades of research and comparative paleographic analysis of the Glagolitic alphabet, the earliest known Slav script. The authors present some fundamental assumptions about the essence and the meaning of the Glagolitic: (1) They shed light on the system of its symbols, its interpretation as an instructive text and its mathematical and geometrical structure, all of which attest to its sacred nature; (2) They examine the Glagolitic in the framework of world paleography, thus giving an idea about its importance as a phenomenon of world culture; and (3) They argue that the Glagolitic is ultimately a pattern which is complete in itself and can be studied in the Bulgarian education system and on a scientific level.
