Published in Russian and English, the two-volume edition includes color photos, sketches and descriptions as well as articles about unique ornaments of the Russian Medieval monumental painting (the end of the XIIIth - the beginning of the XVIth century). The photographs of the ornaments were collected from many Russian Orthodox churches, monasteries, temples and cathedrals situated in the Moscow, Novgorod, Pskov, Tver Regions.
