A guide to the flora of Stara Planina was written with the goal of being a manual for quick recognition of the plants from this region. This publication is intended for botanists, participants of the 13th Symposium of the flora of southeastern Serbia and neighboring regions, who want to find out more about interesting flora of this mountain and the Balkan Peninsula. This is also a type of manual for prompt identification of species in the field, as well as a guide for all people who are interested in getting familiar with wild plant species. The guide provides a short review of 498 plant species, each entry is supported by photos in color. Species are represented according to phylogenetical order, including the members of most important families and genera in the flora of Stara Planina Mt. Besides the images of the plants in full color, the guide includes most important details for their visual identification, landscapes of the mountain, short general description of the area, etc. With all available information, this book is the right choice for the first floristic observation of Stara Planina Mt., but it can also be used in other regions, especially because the species presented here also inhabit other mountains in Serbia.
