The publication presents the materials of the intelligence department of the headquarters of the Western Special Military District of the period of 1941.
The intelligence reports reflect information on the movement and deployment of units in the period from January to early June 1941, airfields, engineering training of German positions, border fortifications in East Prussia and the Governor-General. Construction and repair of roads near the USSR border, the mood inside the German army, as well as measures taken by the German authorities against the local population, the economic situation in the Governor-General and East Prussia, the location of air defense, information on warehouse construction, ammunition and fuel, mobilization activities , location of headquarters of formations and surnames of commanders of army infantry and other formations. Information on German aerodromes in the form of a general description of the schemes, as well as data on aerodromes and landing sites are presented separately.
Special messages of the NKGB of the BSSR and the ZapOVO intelligence department on Germany's preparation for war against the USSR, as well as certificates and maps on the grouping and deployment of German troops in January-May 1941.
19 historical documents are being introduced into scientific circulation, including ten intelligence reports, three special reports and six certificates.
The publication is a logical continuation of the book-collection of documents Kienko DG "The day before: Documents of the NKVD of the BSSR on intelligence, counterintelligence and border protection (1940-1941)", published in 2017.
