The basis of the collection was the documents of the Branch State Archive of the Security Service of Ukraine. In addition, materials from the funds of the Central State Archive of Public Associations of Ukraine, the State Archive of Odesa Region, the Branch State Archive of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, the Central State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art of Ukraine, as well as Russian archives were used. These are reports and summaries of agents, recordings of telephone conversations, transparent correspondence, statements of various persons regarding the "anti-Soviet" activities of the film director; reports, memos, certificates, special reports, conclusions, information, plans for agency and operational development, etc.
