The landscape unit of Stari Vlah, which includes the area of Zlatibor, Moravicki, Novovaroљki, Priboj and Visegrad Stari Vlah, does not have clearly defined borders, but in a broader sense it covers the area in the southwest of present-day Serbia, north of the Lim River and east of the Drina, in the Moravica and Uvac basins north of Sjenica. In the west, Stari Vlah borders Bosnia, in the southwest with Stara Herzegovina, in the southeast with Stara Raљka, in the northeast with Dragacevo and in the north with Uћice Montenegro. The reasons for the undefined borders are primarily in different historical, administrative and anthropogeographical bases of observation.
