Pylyp Zahreba tries to manage his household, but cannot cope with his own children. His daughters want to marry against his will, his sons are openly fooling around. The God knows what is going on at home, and Zahreba has long been behind the world and is not interested in it. "The Old Nest" dates from the end of the 19th century, but was published only in 1907, after the author's death. The work, almost forgotten today, is being reprinted with minor corrections.
