The monograph considers the Old Believers as a sociological phenomenon of Russian history. The monograph shows the process of the birth of the Old Believers in Russia as a social-protest phenomenon in response to the church reform of the mid-17th century. Understanding the dead-end path in isolation from society led the entrepreneurs of the Old Believer communities to wide contacts in society through the intensification of entrepreneurial activity and widespread entry into various economic niches, which, of course, contributed to the positive dynamics of the development of Russia.
