For the first time in the history of the domestic oil industry, Urazmet made an attempt to move from artisanal collection and use of oil to organized, industrial production of marketable oil. In the writings of the members of the Russian Imperial Academy of Sciences P.S. Pallas and I.I. Lepekhina there is information about the attempts of the foreman of the Nadyrovsky volost Urazmetov to organize the collection of oil that comes out to the surface, to arrange its processing at the "oil refinery". On July 16, 1754, the Berg Collegium gave permission to Urazmetov to build an oil refinery, exempting him from paying taxes for two years. In addition, Urazmetov was given the right to "sell oil ... throughout the Russian Empire at a free price, wherever they wish." The name of Urazmetov was hidden for several centuries. But the honored oilman of the Republic of Tatarstan, the famous inventor, the author of books on oil and local history, Rafik Amirkhanov, did a great job in the archives. He studied many sources, retrieved forgotten names and facts.
