The work is a source documenting the meeting of the Russian Tsar's envoy and artillery captain I. Unkovsky with the Dzungarian Khan Tseveenravdan in Dzungaria in 1722-1724, and his notes on the geography, history, and customs of Dzungaria. The 1887 edition, including the notes and the preface written by N.Iv. Veselovsky, has been fully translated from Russian.
