Memoirs by O.Ivanovsky are one of the rare books written by officers of the Soviet Military SMERSH (Death to Spies) Counterintelligence. The author openly writes about the relations of the Soviet troops with the KGB servicemen, methods of operation executions at the early stage of the SMERSH existence, as well as about the battles, campaigns and raids of the Horse Guards Regiment, of which the author was an active participant.
