In 1970, a mass find of denarii from the turn of the 10th and 11th centuries was made in Hradec Kralov. Only a part of it – 413 coins – ended up in the numismatic collection of the Museum of East Bohemia. Although it was an exceptionally important source of information on the history of the early Czech state, the evidence of this source remained hidden from historians for many decades. At the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries, PhDr. Jarmila Haskova, CSc. managed to examine, describe and evaluate the find of denarii as a whole in detail. Due to the premature death of the author, her work remained only in an incompletely preserved manuscript. Given the fact that this is a precise analysis of coins from the denarius period and at the same time a comprehensive interpretation of the message of a valuable find in the context of historical and archaeological knowledge of the history of the early Czech state, Jarmila Haskova's work is published at least in this editorial edition.
