The artists, whose works were displayed at the exhibition, have traversed a long and arduous path, and now one of the biggest Russian museums - the State Historical Museum on the Red Square of Moscow – welcomed visitors to see the works by artists, who opposed the old regime and had been persecuted for over two decades. The exhibited works, by their nature, call for an active attitude, even effort of the viewer. This is the purpose of modern art. The exhibition contributed to understanding of complex aspects and sense of topical art, without which there can be no modern public consciousness.
