The book you are holding is being prepared and presented by Dosym Satpayev’s private cultural and educational foundation, BonArt auction house and its founder Maxim Tkachenko, art critic Valeria Ibraemen, and nomadic culture researcher Julia Gani. The uniqueness of the new book project is that it is based on works from the antique collection of fine arts in Almaty, created by travelers, diplomats, spies, merchants, exiles and missionaries who came from different countries and traveled the Kazakh steppes for various purposes at different times, and which later became the basis for creating geographical maps.
