There is an instructive message in the Bible that man has no idea when his end is near. However, if one is unteachable and stands up to fate, only trouble ensues. Detective Richard Krauz is here to solve fateful problems. So it was on that memorable day at the turn of the millennium - New Year's Eve 1999. Two hours before midnight, he was called to the cemetery to a tombstone spattered with blood. Blood was not the only peculiarity on the grave; more mysterious was the freshly carved date of death - tomorrow, the first day of the new millennium. At first glance, a silly prank, but Detective Krauze bursts out laughing the moment he is told by the surgery centre that the owner of the grave had indeed died the first hour after midnight. Fate has played cruelly with him; no matter how meticulously he planned his death, someone has beaten him to it. The man was shot in the back in a manner precluding suicide. Homicide has another conundrum ahead, but it's far from the only one. A magical night separating two millennia will bring them more surprises, unfortunately, surprises in Homicide usually cost someone an innocent life.
