Two years before his 75th birthday, a talented artist, academician of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan, Niyozali Kholmatov, passed away. In trying to understand his creative heritage, it is impossible to limit ourselves only to strict academic assessments and art history characteristics. One involuntarily recalls an attentive and thoughtful look, a soft, slightly muffled, warm, but confident voice of the artist. He did not answer questions about creativity immediately, after a short pause, as if he was polishing the phrase within himself, giving significance to each word.
