The publication includes documents relating to the dramatic history of the confrontation between Soviet troops and Wehrmacht units at the Demyansk bridgehead in 1942. A significant part of the materials was taken from the archives of the Russian Federation, Germany and the United States and recreates a detailed picture of the hostilities in the most critical section of the bridgehead, the Ramushevsky corridor, during the formation of the Demyansk pocket and its breakthrough.
The book is addressed to historians, military archaeologists and search engines, as well as to all those who are interested in the tragic events of the Demyansk operation, including the descendants of the Red Army soldiers who died and survived in it.
