The book is compiled in the form of memoirs of the life and activities of Nikolay Krasavchenko (1916-1993), who was a public figure, the first Rector of Kalmyk State University and the Head of Moscow State Historical and Archival Institute. Outstanding scientists, literary men, relatives, friends, colleagues and students of N.P.Krasavchenko are among the authors of the book. There is also a publication of his speech “Main Stages of Higher Education in Kalmykia” delivered at the Russian scientific conference “Repressed Nations: History and Modern Times” (Elista, 1992).
