Nikolai Semyonovich Golovanov (21 January 1891 – 28 August 1953), was a Soviet conductor and composer (he was known as “the main conductor of the USSR”), and was granted an honorary title of People's Artist of the Soviet Union medal. The first book contains texts by Golovanov himself and an extensive reference appendix.
