The study is devoted to of one of the leading representatives of Romanticism - Nicolo Paganini. The author made an attempt to address the origins of Paganini’s creativity. An innovative reading of Paganini’s autobiographies and data obtained in the process of interpretation of historical and biographical and stylistic musical material, allowed to recreate the original context of Paganini’s art and substantially correct the deep-seated myth about the phenomenon of Paganini.
