"Defended at the Department of Art History, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade, Katarina Simeunovic's master's thesis represents a valuable contribution to our history of modern, or more precisely contemporary art, because it deals with the still current topic of the so-called new figuration, which in a certain way marked our art scene in the 1960s. The author used, quoted and polemically related to the entire available critical opus of that time - both through original texts by art critics and theorists of the 1960s, and by relying on more recent literature and theoretical thought. Authentically and theoretically very well, she explains the commitment to accepting the former proposal of Prof. Dr. Jerko Jeso Denegri to call these phenomena in local art the new objectivity. She very seriously justified this commitment by referring to the theoretical discussions of Leonid Sejka, and taking into account the artistic practice of other participants – Dusan Otasevic, Radomir Reljic, Dragos Kalajic, Vladimir Velickovic, Radomir Damnjanovic Damnjan, etc.
