The publication unfolds the history of the famed Russian Far-Eastern family clan of Yankovsky. The family members lived stormy lives of businessmen, naturalists and writers, crowded with fantastic success and catastrophic sacrifices, human happiness and tragedy, Taiga adventures and scientific explorations, which started from the Polish convict Mikhail Yankovsky - a person who established his own entrepreneurs' and hunters' empire in the Primorye of the late XIXth century. Yury Mikhailovich, representative of the second generation of the Yankovskys left in 1922 together with his household for Korea, where he founded "Novina" and "Lukomorye" estates. He and his son Valery won the fame of legendary tiger hunters in the Russian Far East and South-Eastern Asia.
