The offered research is the first in historiography to fill one of the blank spots in the elucidation of the history of the East Caucasian people. The author of the study applies to numerous archival sources in order to destroy the traditional opinion that the national-liberation movement under the leadership of Khadzhi-Davud Myushkyursky was antinational and Myushkyursky was a protege of the sultanate.
