The everyday traditions of our people are an integral part of the Ukrainian history. Several years ago the Center for Cultural Studies of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine developed a detailed methodology for determining the elements of intangible cultural heritage. It also included culinary traditions of the Ukrainian people.
This publication is the result of many years of hard work of authors - researchers of Ukrainian cultural traditions, who were engaged in scholarly research of their origins in the continuous process of forming the cultural code of the nation and discovering its unique features in the aspect of European culture. The authors consulted a well-known ethnographer, a specialist of the Institute of Folklore of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Lidiia Artiukh. What works of culinary art of Ukraine can be undoubtedly submitted to the World List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO?
