The author of the present collection of stories is the world-famous classic of Jewish literature in Yiddish, laureate of Nobel Prize - Itskhak Bashevis-Zinger. In the 1935s, he emegrated from Poland to America, and there began to write a series of short stories that united features of memoirs and biographical genres.
