The Battle of Kulikovo that took place, according to annals, on September 8, 1380 at the Kulikovo field between the rivers Don, Nepryadva and Krasivaya Mecha, was a decisive battle between the Rus and the Horde. In his book a historian and journalist Yuri Zvyagin basing on the analysis of chronicles, archaeological and numismatic data proves that the real place of the battle must be sought not in the lower but in the upper Nepryadva and Mecha near Lake Volovo.
