This book will tell about a former noble estate, which was one of the first on the South Coast in the early nineteenth century. From Cape Plaka to Ayu-Dag stretches the most picturesque Parthenite Valley, or the Valley of the Virgin. Many times these lands passed from hand to hand: they were resold, donated, until they were acquired by the first civil governor-general of Tavrida, Andrei Mikhailovich Borozdin. A military general, a graduate of Cambridge University, a scientist, the founder of industrial viticulture, an active participant in the creation of the Imperial Nikitsky Botanical Garden, he turned this corner into a real "boudoir of the whole Crimea."
