Memories are a difficult genre. First of all, because the author must be honest with himself, as in the last confession. And it's not easy. But Mykola Rudenko follows this unwritten rule and repeatedly emphasizes that in his life he professed only the truth, no matter how bitter it was, and did only what he believed in. The author speaks sincerely and courageously about the extremely difficult and painful path - from an orthodox communist, a front-line political instructor, a well-known writer, secretary of the Kyiv Writers' Organization party committee to a truth-teller, a political prisoner of Soviet concentration camps, a dissident. Probably because of this, "The Greatest Miracle - Life" is read with enthusiasm, like an adventure novel, and at the same time encourages the reader to very difficult and instructive thoughts.
