The monograph is devoted to the prominent Czech poet-romanticist K.G.Makha (1810-1836). He was the first person in the Czech literature to point at the fundamental existentialist problems of people, controversial essence of humans and eternal conflict between life and death. His lifestyle and the style of his works blended together into a mysterious integrity. The realities of his life transformed into contrasting and at the same time harmonious style structures. The book also sheds light on the translations of Makha’s works in Ukrainian.
