Viktors Hausmanis (born December 6, 1931) is a scholar of Latvian literature and theater. Dr.h. filol. (1972), Academician of the Latvian Academy of Sciences (1989). The book tells the story of a scientific research institute in which he has spent most of his life and which has become almost his second home, where working days have been spent for more than sixty years.
