Jen Thorpe is a feminist writer and researcher based in Cape Town. Her first novel, The Peculiars (Penguin South Africa, 2016), was long listed for the Etisalat Prize for Literature and the Sunday Times Fiction Prize. In 2012 she published My First Time: Stories of Sex and Sexuality from Someone Like You with Modjaji Books, following the success of the online site. An edited collection of essays, Feminism Is, will be published in February 2018 with NB Books.
