The Book of Musical Stories by Nikolai Slonimsky (1894-1995) is one of the most famous works of the American musicologist, composer, conductor and pianist. This is a collection of curious and funny stories not only about music and musicians, but also about musical animals and strange musical inventions. Most of the source material was taken by Slonimsky from old newspaper notes and music magazines published since 1784. The book was written in 1948. Published in Russian for the first time.
