The present edition is the first book, dedicated to “Leningrad”, a Russian music group, and to its leader Sergei Shnurov. The author is the leading musical columnist of the “Afisha” magazine (2001-2007), a witness and participant of the events described. He defines the book not as the group’s biography, but as a “gift collection of memoirs with a claim to a certain collective self-portrait”.
