The monograph is devoted to the history of formation and the current state of science and historical museums, including museums of history of state higher edu-cational institutions in South Western Siberia. It is for the first time that the authors present extensive complex of museum collections kept in university museums, which are the main repository and translator of university cultural traditions, his-torical, cultural and natural heritage of the region. The particular attention is paid to the organization of research and fund work and innovative developments in the different fields of museum activity.
