Translation. All the events, that took place in Mountainous Karabagh in 1918-1921, describe the formation of governing institutions in this region; tell about the large-scale invasion of the regular Turkish Army into it; and contain the basic facts concerning the heroic struggle of the indigenous Armenian people for the peaceful and secure life in their country. Owing to the comprehensive analysis of archival material, it is shown that Artsakh was an important point of rivalry between foreign powers; and finally it became a victim of the alliance, concluded by Soviet Russia and Kemalist Turkey. Harsh and two faced British policies; the march of Andranik Detachment with the refugees under his portection until the border of Karabagh and then to Zangezur; military history of the Shushi Regiment are elucidated, too.
