The book is devoted to the biography of Mother Vera Merkulova (1884-1935), a resident of the Holy Trinity Sumarokov Monastery. Contemporaries revered mother Vera as a saint, who had the gift of a seer. Thousands of people rushed to her from all over the Kostroma province.
After the revolution, in order to stop the mass pilgrimage to her, the authorities arrested her 12 times.
