The monograph draws the picture of Muscovy in musical-poetic form as reflected in the church songbook "D'iachee oko'" (The Clerk's Eye) is explored. The succession of Rome- Constantinople-Moscow connected with the artistic realization of the idea "Moscow - The Third Rome" is revealed in the book on the example of motets in honor of Roman, Byzantine and Russian church associates. The appendix contains the first in the history publications of the annotated motets of the services for Prince Vladimir, Elena and Constantine, and modern music notations of celebrating motets.
