The monograph authored by Stefania Andrusiv presents a textual analysis of the Western Ukrainian Culture and Literature in the 1930s. First and foremost, the author concerns herself with a multiple and the most dominant sense in text under analysis, viz. the preservation of national identity, process of designating, shaping and spreading of the ideology, teleology and rhetoric of national identity across all of its semantic structures ranging from Mass Consciousness (the shaping of the cultural and historical phenomenon in Halychyna) to Literature. Since L'viv was the leading culture-shaping and ethno-protecting centre of western Ukraine, the Culture text in period in question can be termed as the L'viv Culture Text. The research focuses on the most cosmological and ethno-protecting genres of the 1930s L'viv Literary Discourse, viz. historical belles-lettres, 'countryside' and women's prose, poetry. The methods of research are present-day theories.
