The intellectual biography of the leading figure of the Ukrainian musical world of post-war emigration - Ukrainian musicologist and conductor Miroslav Antonovich (1917–2006) is studied. After emigrating in the late 1940s to the Netherlands, throughout his later life, he was associated with the University of Utrecht. M. Antonovich's scientific work and his conducting activities with the Byzantine Choir formed a special dimension of the emigration culture of the post-war decades. They testify to understanding their own national tradition as part of European culture, to acquiring its "European identity" as a conscious and accepted intercultural coexistence, while preserving their own identity. The book was written based on the archive of M. Antonovich, personally deposited at the Institute of Church Music of the Ukrainian Catholic University (Lviv). For music historians, scholars in the fields of music cultural studies, arts, music performance, musical diaspora.
