The monograph is prepared on the basis of empirical researches carried out during 1999-2009, which helped to record not only the characteristics of the Russian middle class, but also the dynamics of its development over the last decade. The authors try to analyze the peculiarities of structural positions, social and professional status of representatives of the middle class. They also try to find out whether this class is provided with various types of resources, what is the specificity of its behavior, and which socio-psychological characteristics it has.
