This issue of the Literary Heritage Library publishes for the first time in full the memoirs of Nadezhda Grigoryevna Chulkova (1874–1961), the wife of the symbolist poet, prose writer, and literary historian Georgy Ivanovich Chulkov (1879–1939). Chronologically, the memoirs cover the period from the 1900s to the 1930s. They tell about the Chulkovs’ time in exile in Siberia, their travels abroad, the capital’s literary life, and the everyday life of the revolutionary and post-revolutionary years. Separate chapters are devoted to both major figures of Russian culture (L.N. Andreyev, A.A. Akhmatova, A.A. Blok, A.S. Golubkina, V.I. Ivanov, A.M. Remizov, F. Sologub), and lesser-known ones — A.K. Gertsyk, E.P. Ivanov, V.N. Ivoylov-Knyazhnin, V.A. Piast, V.A. Ternavtsev, V.A. and P.E. Shchegolev. Also, for the first time, the currently known corpora of correspondence between G.I. Chulkov and V.I. Ivanov, F. Sologub and V.F. Khodasevich are published in full.
