The third issue of the series of interdisciplinary studies on various aspects of male subcultures functioning in the structure of traditional and contemporary society investigates the conditions of extremity. Situations under the threat of death and existence in the regime of extremity reveal the peculiarities of male worldview. The strategies of gender-determined behavior inherent to the males of the extreme professions and social and ethnic groups existing on the verge of survival are profoundly studied.
