The story is about Ukrainian family deported from the Podkarpackie Voivodeship (Zakerzonnia) to the territory of the Ukrainian SSR in the period between 1945-1946. The main character Marysya Perchak is a young woman from a large family. The girl is passionately in love with Fedor. Marisa and Fedor's first love is awe-inspiring and very timid. They are separated by a picturesque stream and the difficult circumstances of the then reality. The boy, like Marisa's brother Vasko, is a singer. From time to time Marysya also performs certain tasks. The story of Vasko and his beloved - the saved Jew Nava, is another story line of the work, highlighting the background.
