The latest collection of essays by the Latvian philosopher Igor Shuvajevs. The book includes 10 essays, the underlying idea of which is the genealogical and archaeological marking of the history of the present. Special emphasis is placed on contemporary biopolitical developments, which are included in supposedly marginal phenomena. At the same time, it allows us to show how seemingly unimportant developments intertwine into significant phenomena in the present. The collection prompts reflection on various cultural phenomena and modern existences, and political technologies. At the same time, the book makes it possible to become aware of hitherto unknown contemporary developments and draws attention to persons and developments neglected in the cultural history of Latvia. The book is not only a philosophical-historical reconstruction, it could stimulate discussions about the understanding, research and future actions of relevant phenomena existing in Latvia.
