The book deals with a number of problems of the historical demography of Russia in the 16th - early 18th centuries. The presentation is based on mass cadastral sources - scribes and census books. Accounting documentation of church origin is also involved. The emphasis is on the family and marriage sphere of human life, the personal-individual principle is singled out among representatives of different social strata of Russian society, their age, generational and professional characteristics. Attention is paid to gender, anthroponymic, medico-social, epidemiological, historical-legal and socio-cultural aspects of demographic history.
